Caption: Indian Hemp (Apocynum cannabinum), is one of the dogbanes and not related to true hemp. It has been long used as a fiber source by Native Americans. Although potentially poisonous if ingested, it is thought to have medicinal properties. It is widely distributed throughout the southwest, western Texas, and the Rocky Mountains.
