Caption: Physalaemus pustulosus trinitatis, frog found in Trinidad & in Central & South America. The vocal sacs of this male frog are fully inflated as it lies in a shallow puddle calling to a female. Calling attracts only mature females ready for spawning. Apart from courtship, calling is used to communicate other social & territorial information. The call of this frog is also detected by a frog eating bat Trachops cirrosus who feeds on this species.
