Caption: Hyla microcephala misera, one of the many species of small yellow tree frogs found in South America & on the Caribbean island of Trinidad. In Trinidad it is found in herbaceous vegetation, in ditches & ponds, but only in open areas. It is absent from forested areas. Tree frogs legs are adapted to suit their arboreal life style: the digits terminate in expanded sucking discs, which assist in climbing & gripping.
