Caption: Common frog tadpoles. The Common frog (Rana temporaria) is a species of frog that is found throughout most of Europe. The adults feed primarily on insects, slugs, snails and worms, but the tadpoles are herbivores and tend to eat algae, some plants and pond detritus. Their ideal habitat and breeding ground is a shallow and still freshwater pond.
