Caption: Green iguana (Iguana iguana) sticking out its tongue. This is a large arboreal lizard that inhabits the canopy of tropical forests in Central America and northern South America. It is herbivorous, feeding on fruits, leaves, flowers and shoots. An adult may attain a length of around two metres. Despite its size it is a popular pet, although it does require specialist conditions to be healthy. Photographed on Bonaire Island in the Netherlands Antilles.
