Caption: The green tree python, Morelia viridis, primarily feeds on birds and small lizards. It is a native to the rainforests of Papua New Guinea, much of the Indoaustralian archipelago, and NW Australia. The uncanny similarities between this species and the unrelated South American emerald tree boa, Corallus caninus, have led many to cite the situation as an example of convergent evolution.
