Caption: Killer whale dorsal fin. View of the large dorsal fin of a male killer whale, or orca (Orcinus orca). A cloud of exhaled air from the killer whale's blowhole is seen to the left of the fin. These large predatory dolphins inhabit seas throughout the world, except for the extreme polar regions. Killer whales may reach lengths of over 9 metres, although the females are usually smaller. The males' dorsal fins may be almost two metres tall. They live in groups of between two and 40 individuals, and chase and eat almost anything, including seals, penguins, fish, whales and other dolphins. They rarely, if ever, attack humans. They have no natural predators.
