Caption: Dolphin leaping for ball. Captive dolphin (family Delphinidae) leaping into the air to touch a ball. Dolphins are agile, streamlined aquatic mammals. They are intelligent, social creatures which possess advanced communication skills, and so they are easily trained to perform tricks in captivity. Wild dolphins enjoy playing and are often seen leaping out of the water. Whilst dolphins seem to enjoy contact with humans in their natural habitat, there is concern for the welfare of individuals kept in captivity. Photographed in the UK.
