Beluga whales. Beluga or white whales (Delphinapterus leucas) underwater. This whale inhabit the Arctic coasts of Europe, Asia and North America. It lives in a slowly-swimming, mixed sex and age, social group of between 2 and 25 animals. During the winter migration these groups join, forming groups of up to 10,000 whales. It feeds on fish and molluscs living on the seabed. Photographed in the Canadian Arctic.
