Caption: Grey Wolf. View of a grey wolf (Canis lupus) feeding on a deer kill in the snow. A fully grown grey wolf has a body length of up to 140 cm and a body weight of up to 80 kg. It preys on large herbivores such as elk, bison and mountain sheep as well as deer. The grey wolf lives in packs of 5-15 individuals. It is found mainly in North America and Asia, however there are residual populations in Mexico, Europe and Scandinavia. The grey wolf is an endangered species in all American states except Alaska. Photographed in Montana, USA.
