Caption: Red fox (Vulpes vulpes fulva) sleeping. The red fox is an adaptable member of the dog (canid) family. It can be active during the day and night, feeding on fruit, vegetables and small animals that it catches. The red fox lives in dens, most commonly in deciduous woodland, but it may also venture into urban areas, to scavenge from rubbish bins as well as hunt. The red fox is found throughout the northern hemisphere. Photographed in Yukon Territory, Canada.
