Caption: Cape fox (Vulpes chama) digging at the entrance to its den. This small fox, measuring up to 60 centimetres, inhabits the grasslands and savannahs of southern Africa. It is mostly nocturnal and lives alone or in pairs in dens. It feeds on small rodents, rabbits, reptiles, insects and a little plant matter. Photographed in the Kalahari Desert, South Africa.
