Caption: Bobcat. View of a bobcat (Lynx rufus) in a cottonwood tree (Populus sp.). A fully grown bobcat has a body length of 65-100 cm and a body weight of up to 16 kg. It preys on hares, cotton- tail rabbits and dear and is commonly known as the "wild cat". The bobcat is a solitary animal, living in a well-marked territory. It is an excellent climber and can also swim but only does the latter in an emergency. The bobcat ranges from southern Canada to Mexico, however it is not found in the prairies. Photographed in the Uinta National Forest, Utah, USA.
