European rabbit. Head of a European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). This rabbit is found on every continent except Asia and Antarctica. It inhabits any area with soft soil that is suitable for burrowing, but will generally avoid dense forest. It is a herbivore, feeding on grasses, roots, tree bark and other vegetation.
