Caption: Mule deer. Mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus) camouflaged as it peers above rocks. This deer lives in the mountains and deserts of western North America, from Canada to northern Mexico. It eats a huge variety of vegetation, taking practically any plant it finds. Adult mule deer may reach a length of up to two metres. They can live for over ten years in the wild. Photographed in Colvil National Forest, Oregon, USA.
