Caption: Chital deer (Axis axis) stag and does. Chital are native to India and Sri Lanka, but have been introduced to many other countries. They live in herds of up to 100 individuals. Chital are also called spotted deer because of their distinctive coat. The large antlers of the male mean that this species is often the subject of trophy-hunting.
