Caption: Male chital deer (Axis axis). The chital deer is also called the spotted deer or axis deer. It is found in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and most of India. This deer occurs in herds comprised of one or two stags and a number of females and young. It feeds predominantly on grass and vegetation. Photographed in Kanha National Park, India.
