Caption: Giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis). The giraffe is the tallest living land animal. Males can grow to a height between 4.8 and 5.5 metres and weigh up to 1,260 kilograms. Females are a little shorter and weigh less. The giraffe feeds on the twigs and leaves of trees and other plant foods. It defends itself by kicking out at its attacker. Photographed at the South Luangwa National Park, in Zambia, Africa.
