Caption: Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis) browsing in the top of a tree with its tongue extended to tear leaves from the branches. The giraffe is the tallest living land animal. It can grow to a height of 5.5 metres and weigh over a tonne. It feeds mainly on the twigs and leaves of trees. Giraffes are found on the grasslands and scrublands of sub-Saharan Africa. This is a male (bull) giraffe. Photographed in Kruger National Park, South Africa.
