Caption: Male springbuck (Antidorcas marsupialis) marking his territory by urinating. This behaviour is only seen during times of mating. Although the springbuck can mate all year round, the main season is timed so that fawns are born at the beginning of the wet season. This social gazelle- like antelope is found on the savannahs and open dry plains of southern Africa. It feeds on grasses, leaves and shoots and can reach up to 90 centimetres tall to the shoulder. Photographed in the Kalahari Desert, South Africa.
