Caption: Red hartebeest (Alcelaphus caama). This antelope stands 1.5 metres tall at its shoulder and can weigh up to 200 kilograms. Red hartebeests live in open forests and grasslands and feed mainly upon grass. Their name derives from the distinctive heart shape formed by the curve of their horns when viewed from the front. Photographed at Etosha National Park, Namibia.
