Caption: Archaeological examination. Bone of an athlete from Ancient Greece being scanned with a laser (red line). The scanner produces a precise spatial representation of the bone's size and shape. These remains date from around 600 BC and were found inside a sarcophagus in Taranto, which used to be a Greek colony but is now in Southern Italy. Photographed at the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, Italy, and dates from the 5th Century BC.
