Caption: Dramatic view of a large continental land mass stretching almost to the horizon. We are traveling in an easterly direction across the Earth and the curved horizon thin blue veneer of the atmosphere contrasts beautifully with the deep blackness of space. As we continue to travel in orbit a thick bank of stratocumulus clouds appears. The horizon remains in view as we continue beyond the cloud bank and into a much darker terrain carved by rivers and drainage patterns and covered in the patterns of geological formations. The feathery cloud shapes of a long line of cirrus clouds appears towards the end of the clip.
