Caption: Hand held but reasonably steady view of an arid semi-desert area below the space station as we orbit from west to east. North is towards the top of the frame. A few cumulus and wisps of cirrus clouds come into view, streaked out and sculptured by high west-east winds. Shades of brown and grey can be seen marking out geological differences on the ground. Dark patches of vegetation are also visible. Two minutes or so into the clip a long curving coastline comes into view - the white sand marking out a thin beach. The station passes further out into the ocean with bright sunlight reflected off the sparkling blue water. Patches of cirrocumulus and altocumulus clouds are visible. Beneath them are small island chains with turquoise shallow shelves and reefs off the edge of the coastlines. Many shades of blue can be seen beneath the clear water. Another line of land appears and the camera zooms in to see more detail in the cloud banks.
