Caption: Comet 67P Churyumov-Gerasimenko, animation. This comet measures 4 kilometres in diameter and orbits the Sun in 6.45 years. In 2004 the European Space Agency launched the Rosetta spacecraft on a mission to study 67P Churyumov Gerasimenko. The spacecraft arrived at the comet on 6th August 2014, and deploy a lander called Philae to study its surface.
