Caption: Cotton pickers, harvesting cotton bolls (white) from fields of cotton plants. The bolls will be processed to obtain cotton for the fabric industry. This cotton plantation is in Pulaski County, Arkansas, USA, and the date is October 1935. This image was obtained by Lithuanian-US artist and photographer Ben Shahn (1898-1969) while working for a US government photography project that documented everyday American life between 1935 and 1944.
