Caption: Cell division. Bessel beam plane illumination microscopy of a cell nucleus during mitosis (nuclear division) and cytokinesis (cell division). This technique shines Bessel beams through the side of a sample, illuminating it in thin sheets. The beams are scanned across the sample pulsing on and off. The two dimensional image strips are then combined to form a three dimensional image.
