Caption: Moorish gecko (Tarentola mauritanica). This gecko is found mainly in coastal regions of the Mediterranean. It feeds on insects, using its toe pads to climb walls in urban areas. Its tail, which is roughly the same length of its body, can be easily shed if the gecko is attacked by a predator. The tail will regrow but usually not to its original length.
