The tumours are the bright white and yellow areas. The main cause of lung cancer is cigarette smoke. Symptoms include chest pain, shortness of breath and a cough. Treatment is with a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The PET scan used here is (18F)fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography.
