Caption: Crested kingfisher (Megaceryle lugubris) eating a fish it has caught. This bird is also known as the greater pied kingfisher. It is large kingfisher, reaching up to 41 centimetres in length. It lives around rivers across much of eastern Asia, feeding mainly on fish, but also catching frogs and other small animals. It catches these by waiting from a perch above water before diving in and grabbing the prey in its bill. Filmed in Japan.
