Caption: William Evans Hoyle (1855-1926), British anatomist. Hoyle was the first director of the National Museum of Wales. He also wrote reports on cephalpods (octopuses, squid, cuttlefish and nautilus) collected during the HMS Challenger expedition of 1872-1876. Photographed in 1895.
