Caption: Plukenet insect collection. These insects (dragonflies and damselflies) were collected and pressed in around 1690 by the English botanist Leonard Plukenet (1641-1706). In 1689, Plukenet had been appointed superintendent of the royal gardens at Hampton Court. These specimens became part of the Hans Sloane Collection and are now part of the collections at the Natural History Museum, London, UK.
