Caption: Greenland whale stranding. Engraving giving details of the stranding of a Greenland whale (Baloena musculus) in 1827. The whale was found floating 12 miles from Ostend, Belgium, on 3 November. This engraving, published in 1832, gives details of the size and shows interior and exterior views of the building constructed to exhibit its skeleton.
