Caption: Interacting galaxies, infrared image. These galaxies are M82 (top) and M81 (bottom). They are located around 12 million light years from Earth, in the constellation of Ursa Major. They are separated on the sky by around 130,000 light years. This image, published in 2011, was obtained by NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE).
