Caption: Throat tissue. Fluorescence deconvolution micrograph of a section through throat tissue. This tissue sample is a longitudinal section through striated skeletal muscle (fibres, red) associated with the oesophagus, the tube leading from the mouth to the stomach. This sample includes a neuromuscular junction (NMJ). Cellular proteins are highlighted with fluorescent markers: g-actin (red), smooth muscle actin (green) and cell nuclei (blue).
