Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Hospital patient (simulated by model) uses a sensor for breath sample analysis in a study at Leicester University, UK. to integrate a number of advanced diagnostic methods including mass spectrometry, thermal imaging and ultrasound blood flow measurement. Using expertise from chemical and space research scientists to compliment medical practice it is hoped that a rapid, portable and non-invasive detection instrument will be developed to detect disease. In the foreground are monitors of multi-spectral and hyper-spectral analysis equipment, and on the right of patient a bank of screens monitor cardiovascular functions.
