The core (seen here) of Omega Centauri holds 2 million stars, and there are 10 million stars in the entire cluster, making it among the biggest of some 200 globular clusters orbiting the Milky Way. Omega Centauri is located 17,000 light years from Earth in the constellation Centaurus.
