Caption: Orion nebula. Hubble Space Telescope colour mosaic view of the Orion Nebula (M42), an emission nebula in the constellation Orion, 1500 light years from Earth. Radiation from hot young stars forming in the nebula cause it glow red. The stars powering this nebula are a tight cluster called the Trapezium, which occupies the white area left at the end of the clip. The radiation pressure and stellar winds of the young stars have opened up a large cavity in the gas cloud from which they formed.
