Caption: Bladder cancer surgery. Surgeon preparing for a transurethral resection of a bladder tumour (TURBT) on a patient with cancer of the bladder lining. The surgeon is inserting a tube into the patient's urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder out of the body, and flushing it with fluids. During the surgery an endoscope will be inserted into the urethra and a wire loop will be passed through it to remove the tumour. This is minimally invasive, or keyhole, surgery and requires minimal aftercare. For the entire sequence see clips K002/9557 to K002/9577.
