Caption: Angiography video of the digestive system of a 56-year-old patient suffering with cirrhosis (chronic liver disease). The patient has been fitted with a Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS or TIPPS), an artificial channel in the liver to improve blood flow between portal vein (inflow) and hepatic vein (outflow). Angiography is an imaging technique in which a radio-opaque contrast medium is injected into blood vessels to allow them to be seen on an X-ray.
