Caption: Bat cave roosting holes. Bats roost in these holes high up on the ceiling of a limestone cave. One bat is seen in the hole at left. The precise mechanism of formation is unknown, but one theory is that the acidic urine from the bats dissolves the rock around them. Photographed in Clearwater Cave, in Gunung Mulu National Park, in Sarawak, the Malaysian part of the island of Borneo.
