Caption: Russian imperial hunting party, India. The animal that has been shot here is a leopard. In the front row, from left to right, are: Prince Alexander Vladimirovich Bariatinski (1848-1909); Prince Ivan Mikhailovich Obolenski (1853–1910); and Prince Nicholas Alexandrovich Romanov (1868-1918), at the time Tsarevitch (heir to the Russian throne). This hunt took place on 28 December 1890, near Ellora, while on a visit to the Nizam (ruler) of Hyderabad, then part of the British Raj. Artwork from the seventh volume (first period of 1891) of the French popular science weekly 'La Science Illustree'.
