Caption: Cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova (born 1937, left) and Dolores Ibarruri (1895-1989). Tereshkova was the first woman in space, making her only flight on the Vostok 6 mission of 16-19 June 1963. Isidora Dolores Ibarruri Gomez, known more famously as La Pasionaria (passion flower) was a Spanish Republican leader of the Spanish Civil War and communist politician. Photographed at the reception in honour of participants of the World Women's Congress, Moscow, Russia, on 24th June 1963.
