Gentoo penguin (Pygoscelis papua) colony in Antarctica, with a large glacier calving in the background. Several of the penguins are tending nests built up from pebbles and loose rocks. This penguin lays two eggs and the parents alternate feeding trips with incubation and care for the chicks once hatched. Photographed in Neko Harbor, on the eastern shore of Andvord Bay, on the Antarctic Peninsula.
