Caption: Central American butterflies. This is plate 25 from the natural history encyclopedia 'Biologia Centrali-Americana'. This work was published in over 50 volumes between 1879 and 1915 by the English naturalist and entomologist Frederick DuCane Godman (1834-1919) and the English naturalist and ornithologist Osbert Salvin (1835-1898). This artwork is from the Lepidoptera-Rhopalocera volume. Held at the Entomology Library at the Natural History Musuem, London, UK.
