Caption: Pluto and its moons. Computer artwork of the dwarf planet Pluto (far left) and three of its four moons (right) as seen through the Hubble Space Telescope. Pluto used to be a planet but was demoted to the status of dwarf planet in August 2006. Charon (second from left) is Pluto's largest moon and is just over half its size. Pluto and Charon are both composed of rock and ice. The other two moons shown here are Nix (second from right) and Hydra (far right). Pluto has one more moon S/2011 P1 (P4, not shown), whose existence was only announced on 20th July 2011.
