Caption: Shark fins. Recently cut shark fins laid out to dry on Fung Mat Road, Hong Kong, China. Hong Kong is the world centre for the trade in shark fins, handling more than half of global trade. The fins are used for shark fin soup, part of Chinese cuisine. However, this is said to have caused a decline in shark numbers, with tens of millions killed each year. Photographed in 2011.
