Caption: Bushmeat trade. Bound hands of a monkey killed by a hunter for its meat. Meat from wild animals traded in this fashion is known as bushmeat. Monkeys and other primates are among the animals killed in African rainforests for the bushmeat trade. Access along logging roads has allowed less skilled hunters with weapons to compete with the locals who use traditional hunting methods. This can result in the indiscriminate hunting of endangered species. Photographed in the south-western region of the Central African Republic, part of the Congo Basin.
