These claims, including Drawbaugh's patent filing of 1880, were contested by the Bell Telephone Company, which won the case in 1886. Drawbaugh, who was from Yellow Breeches Creek, Pennsylvania, invented numerous items, including pneumatic tools, hydraulic rams, and coin separators. This photograph dates from circa 1907.
