This artwork is from 'Traite de la structure du coeur, de son action, et de ses maladies' (1749) by the French physician and anatomist Jean-Baptiste Senac (1693-1770). Senac carried out important advances in studies of the heart, including writings on heart disorders. This copy of this artwork is from the library of the Paris Faculty of Medicine.
